But all of this goes wrong when it becomes an uncontrollable addiction. The addiction that effects our daily routine. One symptom for instance, Checking the mobile multiple times a day for absolutely no reason. No Notification, No Work, It’s Not Needed But still we check it.

What is the Purpose of “Take A Break” Feature On Youtube ?
As a part of this feature, Youtube will be getting a new feature called ” Take A Break Reminder “. The feature will remind you with a notification when you exceeded a specific amount of time by continously watching videos in youtube.
Watching your favourite shows continously is something we all do. If you love this platform as much as i do, there is a chance you might lose track of the time you are spending on watching videos.
These gentle reminder notifications can be of a lot help in those moments, especially if youtube is eating a lot of your time. This feature helps us keep our addiction in control & reminds you to focus on other things.
Youtube’s “Take A Break” feature on Android won’t close the app or the video. It gives a gentle reminder notification which you can dismiss easily. It’s always upto you whether to continue or to focus on another task you have at hand.

How to Use / Set Take a Break Feature on YouTube For Android:
1. Open Youtube App on your android mobile
2. Tap on the user photo on the top right corner of the mobile app.
3. Goto Settings
4. Click on “General”
5. The first option in the “GENERAL SETTINGS” page is “Remind me to take a break”.
Click on it to see all the “Reminder Frequency” Options.
Your Choice of Reminder Frequency are :
- Never
- Every 15 / 30 / 60 / 90 / 180 minutes
As of now Take a break feature is available through official youtube app for “Android” & “iPhones”. The feature is not available for Web, Android Tablets & Apple iPads yet. Google will be rolling out this feature to all the platforms in the next couple of weeks.
