I’m using M1 MacBook Air with Mac OS Sonoma for this tutorial. However, the process is similar & works on all variants of Macs.
How to create a new user account on Mac
- Step 1 : Open “System Settings”.
- Step 2 : From the side bar scroll down & select “Users & Groups”. Click on “Add User” under the list of users & groups.
- Step 3 : You will be prompted to enter your Mac OS password. Enter the password & click on “Unlock”
- Step 4 : In the new window, Select the user account type – Administrator, Standard, Sharing only.
- Step 5 : Enter the user details – Full name, Account name, Password (optional).
How to delete a user account in Mac ?
- Click on the “i” information button on next to the user in the same window & this will pop up a smaller window.
- Click on “Delete User”
- Choose what happens to the data from the given options.
- Confirm “Delete User”
